Free Health Screenings, Beach Runs and Community Talks: Your Guide to Dubai’s Wellness Resources
From mobile clinics in parks to Saturday morning run clubs, Dubai offers an expanding network of free and low-cost wellness programs for residents.
How we reported this
Dubai’s wellness scene continues to grow beyond high-end gyms and spa retreats. A range of community-driven programs now makes health resources more accessible to residents across the city, from free mobile medical clinics to outdoor fitness groups and direct conversations about healthcare services.
Wellness on Wheels: Free Medical Checks at Local Parks
The Al Jalila Foundation’s ‘Wellness on Wheels’ mobile clinics bring free medical consultations directly into neighbourhoods. Parked at locations such as Al Barsha and Al Khawaneej parks, the clinics offer diabetes screenings, vital signs monitoring, and chronic disease management at no cost. According to the foundation, the initiative is designed to remove transport and cost barriers, making preventive care easier to access for residents who may not regularly visit a clinic.
Dubai Fitness Challenge: 30 Minutes for 30 Days
Organised by the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism and Dubai Sports Council, the annual Dubai Fitness Challenge mobilises an estimated 2.4 million participants. The programme commits residents to 30 minutes of daily physical activity for 30 days, supported by 30-day fitness villages, 25 community hubs, and more than 2,000 free classes across the city. The challenge has helped establish a year-round culture of fitness, with many participants continuing their routines long after the official period ends.
Free Community Runs and Beach Yoga
Social wellness groups are flourishing without requiring a membership fee. The Humantra Run Club hosts free ‘Any Pace Any Face’ 5-kilometre runs every Saturday at 6:45am, starting from Jumeirah 3 Beach, with coffee provided afterwards. Meanwhile, Beyond Wellness organises beach yoga and seaside sound bath meditations, allowing participants to unwind by the water. Regular outdoor yoga sessions are also held along the Corniche and on Palm Jumeirah, and Zabeel Park features full outdoor gym setups open to everyone.
Community Majalis: Shaping Healthcare Services Together
Launched by Dubai Health in 2025, the ‘Community Majalis’ initiative holds monthly direct conversations in residential neighbourhoods including Jumeirah. Residents are invited to share concerns and ideas about local healthcare services, with the aim of empowering communities to help shape future health programmes. It reflects a broader shift towards participatory healthcare planning in the city.
Workplace Wellness and Mental Health Support
For those balancing busy work schedules, workplace wellness programmes are increasingly common in Dubai’s corporate sector. Many companies now offer mental health workshops and fitness sessions as part of standard employee benefits, helping to normalise conversations about mental wellbeing. While these programmes vary by employer, the trend signals growing recognition of the link between employee health and productivity.
For personalised health advice, residents are encouraged to consult a local medical professional.
