Best Hotels in Dubai: Burj Al Arab, Beach Resorts & City Hotels
Dubai has staked its global reputation on extraordinary hotel experiences — a city where hospitality is a national sport, where the ratio of luxury hotel rooms to residents is among the highest on earth, and where new benchmark properties open every year. The Burj Al Arab on its own artificial island is the world's most recognisable hotel — a sail-shaped tower that has become synonymous with ultra-luxury travel since opening in 1999. Its seven-star claim is self-awarded and somewhat contested, but the two-floor suites, private chauffeur service, and butler assigned to every room are genuinely exceptional. The Atlantis The Palm on Palm Jumeirah Island offers a completely different proposition: water park, 17 restaurants (including two Nobu locations), and 1,300 rooms make it a resort-within-a-resort. For downtown luxury, the Address Downtown Hotel overlooks the Dubai Fountain and Burj Khalifa, with rooftop pool access that is practically unmatched. The DIFC neighbourhood hosts several business-focused luxury properties including the Four Seasons DIFC. For beach resorts, the JBR (Jumeirah Beach Residence) strip has over a dozen beachfront hotels. Value travellers should look at Deira — older, less glamorous, but well-connected and significantly cheaper.
